Most people wonder why their prayers aren’t answered; maybe I weird but I wanted to know why it my prayer did work. I had prayed for people before and it didn’t work. This was the only time! Three years later, Chad would have an issue with his ears and have to have tubes put in. This is a very common procedure, but I prayed and nothing happened. I remember being very conscious as I prayed and wondered would it work this time.
It wasn’t until about 20 to 25 years later, that God showed me why it worked the first time and not the second time. I had always wondered; didn’t I have enough faith the second time. What went wrong? I never believed that God healed sometimes and sometimes he didn’t. That it was just random. That you couldn’t count on it. I just couldn’t for the life of me figure out the why? God showed me that the first time I had prayed for Chad, I had just a mustard seed of faith and no unbelief. I prayed and believed and just left it there. Chad, who was four and very receptive was under my authority as his parent, easily received. The second time, I wondered if it would work, I operated in unbelief, and it prevented the power of God from being released.
You can have faith and unbelief operating at the same time. If you step out to do something that takes a measure of faith. This stuff about not having enough faith doesn’t really apply. Why??? Because you only need a mustard seed of faith. A mustard seed is about the size of a grain of salt. It’s tiny. Every believer has the enough faith. We all have at least a mustard seed’s worth operating in our lives. So what prevents the mustard seed of faith from working? If you aren’t sure if God heals that will do it. If you think God is random: sometimes he heals and sometimes he doesn’t, that will do it. There are other reasons also.
I know people who read this may be hurt. You prayed for someone and they didn’t receive their healing. I have stated in my testimony, the first person I prayed for was my four year old niece and she died. I understand!
I believe that the God who ordered this universe and created laws like gravity also created Biblical laws like the law of healing. He is not random. I believe it is his will to heal everyone. Again, I am going by what has worked for me and what hasn’t and all this is based on Scripture. To put it simply: when I did this it worked and when I did this it didn’t work. God provided healing through his son Jesus, and I believe we should take advantage of it.
Next time I am going to go deeper and explain as I promised why Mark 11:24 is the key verse to divine healing.
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (Matthew 17: 19, 20)
