WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE: What is the Bible to you?

          When you think about the Bible what comes to your mind? I know many people who think it is outdated. I know many who just don’t believe it at all. I know some Christians who don’t totally believe in it. After all it was written by men, right?

          What do you believe? -DEAD OR ALIVE. The sad thing is many who are truly born-again Christians believe in the Bible but use it basically or exclusively for a Devotional Book. Now it is a devotional book, but it is a lot more than that. I treated it like a devotional book for decades mainly because I didn’t know how to get it to be ALIVE in my life.

          So, what is it to you? I guarantee if you see it as a devotional book only you will never experience a miracle. But if you see it as the LIVING WORD OF GOD you can experience a lifetime of miracles.

          When I was 47, I just had had enough. I was sick of my failures my powerless and unsuccessful life. I asked God to do what every he had to in order to change me. I went from someone who couldn’t hear God’s voice inside my heart and believe for anything (a spiritual wimp) to hearing his voice daily often, and seeing many miracles take place. When I struggled, I asked God to help my unbelief and he did-every time. I took baby steps. I give him all the glory!

          Are you willing to settle for status quo or do you want an intimate relationship with power to know and do God’s will? It is your choice. Yes, the Bible was written by men; men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Lord says for us to come and reason together. He says we can prove him. That we can taste and see that he is good. So, take the challenge from him if you are serious. Say, "Lord I’m yours, I want to know you like they did in the Bible please reveal yourself to me in a miraculous way" and then start taking baby steps as he shows you his will. He won’t’ let you down! I know that for sure because when I called on him with all my heart, he was there!!! It worked for me and it will work for you. What do you have to lose?

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Has God gotten out of the Healing Business? Do you have benefits that are going to waste?

          Psalm 103 tells us “not to forget his benefits.” What are his benefits. They are listed. What does it mean to “not forget his benefits.? Our tendency as humans is just to forget and the promises begin to lose its grip and power in our lives. Has the church forgotten about healing? I think what has happened is that the church doesn’t know how to function in the principles or laws of divine healing. Then you have people running around saying I’m healed and many are just hoping there are, when they are not. Hope is the first step to faith, but not the final step. This is the so-called positive confession doctrine. So, people don’t see their healing manifest and eventually or quickly just give up and there are two philosophies that seem to arise. Either God doesn’t heal anymore or sometimes he heals and sometimes he doesn’t. I must be on the doesn’t list.

          So, has God quit the healing business? Is he random; is it just up to him. Let me answer that with two words: NO and NO. The Bible says, “he healed all that were sick.” It also says he is “no respecter of persons.” Which means he places no favorites. It says you only need a mustard seed of faith to be healed. So, what’s the problem? He needs our cooperation. I will address this questions in the future when I teach.

          I never used to get healed when I prayed (if I did pray) for about thirty-five years as a Christian. I was a realist. Which means I kind of kept down the middle. This is a formula for no results. I achieved it. Then, when I was nearly fifty years of age, I prayed out of desperation and asked God to allow or do anything in my life that would transform me; but just to spare my life. I became deathly sick and in horrible pain for five years and then I was healed.

           I could have stopped there with just a great testimony, but God gave me the choice. I chose to fulfil the ministry call he had on my life and to help others. I want to clarify this, God wasn’t the one who made me sick. Then over a five-year period, I moved from getting healed on an occasion from something smaller to getting healed some of the time with medium type sicknesses to eventually getting healed of anything from little to major (incurable) that was wrong every time. I am not saying this to brag. The Bible tells us to study to show ourselves approved. There were set backs during this time-some major; it at times felt like I was climbing Mt. Everest. I studied and sought God with my whole heart and had my own cadaver to practice on hundreds of time: ME. I give him all the credit. It is a humbling task but I love it.

          God has called me to teach others how to be healed themselves. Sooner or later it seems like nearly everyone will be touched by some sort of major illness. I believe that we have forgotten his benefits. He has shown me how to connect the dots to help others so they don’t have to forget any longer.

          I have a benefit package from God in Psalm 103 and all the other promises, and I use my benefits (promises) effectively whenever I need them. Don’t let your benefits just sit there: unused and wasted. Find out what God has given you and how you can use them. There is an employee’s (sons and daughters of the KING) manual with benefits of relationship (knowing him and having our needs met). It also is a WRITTEN GUARANTEE: it is the Bible and its promises and it is sealed in the Blood of Jesus himself.

          I do this out of my gratitude towards God, to fulfil my calling (it’s a joy) and my love for others.

That One Thing-The Highest Calling!!!

          I believe this is one of the most important things that God has ever spoken to me about. I believe it will challenge you. I hope you will read it and share it if you like it.

          If you watched the visual teaser you met Curly. I am not recommending that movie. I saw it years ago and there may be some objectional stuff in it. I just remember even at the time being captivated by this one scene. When the old cowboy Curly says, “you’ve got to find that one thing.” Everyone it seems is looking for things that will improve them, but have you ever stopped to think is there that ONE THING? I believe there is! I believe that God showed it to me a few weeks ago. So, what should be the highest mark to aim for? That’s the million-dollar question.

          My friend, Steve, our Pastor’s son, just came back from a mission’s trip to Pakistan. He saw people healed and delivered. Somewhere around forty thousand plus people made commitments to Christ. He said it was amazing. But what surprised me is the next thing he said. It didn’t satisfy him. I knew what he meant because God has been speaking to my heart about this very subject too. There are people who say if I could just see a miracle once I would never doubt again. I have seen hundreds of them with the healings in my body that I have believed God for (all Glory to Him). It just doesn’t satisfy permanently. It doesn’t cause you to never doubt again. It’s great but there is something greater.

          God had been dealing and challenging me to make a greater commitment to him. For those of you who had been on my website; you know that I prayed a dangerous prayer over ten years ago that led me on a journey from being the greatest of all sinners and a wimpy man to being able to function in many ways like they did in the Book of Acts. He has opened Divine Healing principles to me. I am so grateful and have been humbled and realize that I am the least (deserving) of all Christians. I don’t know it all and don’t pretend to. I am growing every day. He brought me to that point and I committed my life to him a while back as a living sacrifice.

          Romans 12:1,2 talks about this: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”

          I am at his disposal 24/7. I thought that was the highest call, but now I believe there is one higher even than that. So, what is that highest of all callings. What is that one thing? What could be greater than being a living sacrifice. I believe that I have found the answer in these verses in Philippians 3:10-14.
“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means, I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

          Being a living sacrifice is a much greater commitment than if I could use the term; being a run of the mill-ordinary American Christian. To be a living sacrifice you make yourself available to God period. Then there is this passage in Philippians 3, that talks about “This One thing I Do/I Press Toward the Mark to Know Him. Like a runner running a race and pressing (leaning into the tape) at the end of the race after giving it all he or she has. There is an intensity of relationship that is above all others. TO REALLY KNOW HIM INTIMATELY IS THE HIGHEST CALLING!!!!!

          All things trickle down and stem out of our relationship with the Lord. To be the greatest spouse/parent/worker, etc. trickles down from that one thing. As Steve and I found I nothing else satisfies but that ONE THING. I am just beginning to grow in this HIGHEST OF HIGH CALLING; but what a joy it is.

          I believe in the early church these were not separate issues for most. They were sold out and committed right away and these commitment levels were simultaneously I believe. But here in America, they seem to come in stages.

          So, for you "That One Thing" might be at first just to know and Believe in Jesus to gain eternal life and start your relationship with him. There is more information available on my website. Or maybe you are the average run of the mill Christian and you are sick of it and just want more. Go to Romans 12:1,2 and commit yourself to being a living sacrifice. Say “I am yours, Lord.” If you have committed yourself to be a living sacrifice and are ready for that ONE THING/TO KNOW HIM and to PRESS TOWARDS THAT MARK and are ready to commit yourself to that HIGHEST CALL then just go for it. Say “Lord, I want THAT ONE THING-YOU!!! Show me How.

Move that Mountain even if you have to take Baby Steps

          Jesus never said to "speak to God about your mountain" but he did say to "speak to the mountain about God." He said” if you believe it and do not doubt, it will move.”

         Take baby steps in your situation and speak it out. Start with small things and build up your confidence in Christ. Book mark it in your mind (or write it down) and when you face bigger obstacles (which you will in life) you will be ready and God will help you. If a former wimp like me can do it you can do. God is no respecter of persons. I have seen mountains move: chronic pain, storms, migraine headaches, car troubles, cysts (to name a few). You can do it just remember if you are a believer in Christ, he put that power in you already. If you ask him for something he already gave you then you are a double-minded person. How is he going to answer that? It just shows that we don’t understand the promises; so, they won’t work. The Bible means what it says and says it the way it does for a reason. This is how the Kingdom works.

           Just thank him for his goodness and for the promise and then speak it out. It may be shaky at first, but God will help you if you let him. So, move that mountain even if it’s one baby step at a time. And refuse to quit and don’t take no for an answer and you will eventually see it come to pass.

          In Matthew 17:20 Jesus said, “if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

A New way to approach God- the Bible Way-It actually works!

          Do I deserve to be healed? NO! Get that thought out of your head. I was talking with my dad about this. He had called a prayer counselor and that counselor said about 99 % of the people he prayed with that didn't receive their healing was because of this. They thought somewhere in the back of their mind they didn't deserve to be healed. John 4:24- God has burned this into my heart. "God is a Spirit and those who worship MUST worship in SPIRIT and in TRUTH." God loves faith.

          When you approach God you just love on him and then thank him for what he ALREADY DID FOR YOU. I Peter 2:24-"By his stripes you WERE HEALED." You receive healing because you relate (come to him) in Christ (in the Spirit) not in how good or bad you are (has nothing to do with that). You get it because Jesus got it and its you’re for the taking. He wants you to have it.

          Read Psalm 103-You have a benefit package when you accepted Christ-just as real as the one you get at work. “Don't forget his benefits” Psalm 103 starts out. “Come boldly” God said. And if you struggle, do what the man who was struggling to believe for healing for his son did, pray this “Lord, I believe please help my unbelief.” I do that on the occasion when I am struggling and then I push forward and Gods helps me the rest of the way.

The Devil tried to kill me four times and now I know why!

          Many of you have heard my testimony: seven years in hell; which went an additional three years and turned into ten years in hell. You have read about how I suffered at times with fifteen to twenty things wrong with me. How I was in constant horrible pain. I didn’t know at times if I would live or die. I learned through this experience to have great compassion for those that are sick and hurting and needing a miracle. I know what it is like to lay next to my wife, Ginelle and wonder would I wake up the next day or die in my sleep. I didn’t know how someone could have this much wrong in their body and spiraling downward and live. Most of the time, I was just trying to survive. I didn’t understand what was going on and why. The devil was trying to kill me!!! Now I know why! I would like the reason with you.

          This all may sound strange to you. A lot of people don’t believe in a literal devil. A lot of Christians don’t believe either in him either. They will believe the Bible stories about Jesus and his encounters with the devil and demons. They might even believe maybe in some voodoo part of Africa there might be devils. Have you ever thought this; where did all these demons go?

          When I was in Bible College at North Central University in Minneapolis, I had my first encounter with Satan. It was a Monday morning, November, 1977 and I was laying down in my fourth floor room in the men’s dorm. I was wide awake and just resting. All of a sudden there was this chilling cold presence in my dorm room. I couldn’t see anything. Something grabbed my hands, and turned them towards me and begin to choke me. I was petrified at first and finally got out “in the name of Jesus I rebuke you.” Actually, the first two words didn’t come out audibly so it was more like “name of Jesus I rebuke you. It immediately left.

           I would reflect on this later and say to myself, why would the devil waste his time trying to kill someone a loser like me. For years, I always thought of myself as a nothing; a nobody, and pretty much lived up to that standard. On the humorous side, years later I would think “could you imagine if the devil had been successful.” How would the Bible College have explained it. “Man dies at his own hand.” “Murder/Suicide: “The victim and the perpetrator where one in the same.”

          The second was when I was working out on an elliptical machine, in late 2013 or early 2014 at the YMCA and out of the blue, God brought this scene back to my mind. This had happened thirty-five years ago, and I hadn’t thought about it for at least thirty years. This would have taken place around 1980. This was during Bible College and there had been a snow storm and the roads were very icy. My Bible college friends, Roger and Mary Jo, were in the front seat. I was in back. Roger was driving. We were in the downtown Minneapolis area. We had a green light, and all of a sudden this huge city snow plow ran the red light and there was nothing Roger could do except try to stop. It was so icy and we ran into the side of the snow plow. The driver said, ‘that he went for the lever to pull the front bucket up but something stopped him.”” He thought that we might clear it and not hit him, but if we didn’t we could have been decapitated.” I was grateful that we were alright but didn’t think much more about it. The driver apologized and he was just tired and spaced out the red light. The Lord spoke this to my heart; “I sent an angel to stop him from pulling that lever and saved your lives.” “The devil was trying to take guys out.” “You see if he would have pulled that lever, you all would have been killed. I just thought WOW!

          The third incident took place in our living room. This would have been the fall of 2011. Everyone else was out of the room at the time. This is the only time I actually saw the devil or a demon (well sort of-I’ll explain later). I was in horrible pain sitting on the sofa and all of a sudden this person appeared. He looked like an old bald man that had just escaped from a mental institution. He said “I am going to take you to hell with me.” Now the devil had been plaguing me for weeks and this was the culmination of that. I was scared and felt paralyzed for a moment. Then I rebuked it a time or two in the name of Jesus and he left.

          The last incident took place in May, 2014. I was driving on a two-lane highway and delivering pizza for Domino’s Pizza. There was this white car coming the other way. It begin to come into my lane and it was obvious that it was going to hit me head on. I am ashamed to admit that the thought crossed my mind for a moment “good this will all be over and to do nothing.” I was just worn out. Then I thought of my family and the Lord and that he had a ministry for me and I snapped out of it and chose life. The normal thing would have been for me to move over farther right towards the ditch, but God spoke to my heart and said “go left and go around him on his side of the road.” I did. We missed each other and our eyes met for a moment. Guess who was driving the car? I am about 90% sure that it was the same guy in my living room a few years before. Sure looked like him.

          So the Devil tried to kill me at least four times that I am aware of. Now I know why!!!!!! Because God has opened my eyes and heart with understanding to the principles to teach people about how to receive their Divine Healing. I am not saying I am the only one or that I know everything. I am not and I do not. But I am also not backing down from teaching and preaching the truths that God has shown me!!!!!!! He has also opened to me concerning the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and how this power can be activated and work in one’s live. He has shown me the principles about how to overcome addictions. This will be a future teaching. I promised the Lord, that I wouldn’t preach it unless I could live it. I am still losing the weight and then I will share the Promises/Principles form Gods Word. The final area is Discipleship Evangelism. That is the least developed area. These are the four areas that God has spoken to me that I am to teach on.

          My hope is that people here in the America and elsewhere will open themselves up to the divine healing principles that God has shown me. I believe these principles were meant to be passed down from generation to generation; parents teaching them to their kids. I am not sure but somewhere that broke down.

          Now we do see people divinely healed on occasion but it is usually by a high-profile evangelist with the gift of healing. At times, people will be healed by a Word given at a service by the Holy Spirit. For instance, “everyone that has migraine headaches come up and you will be healed.” On a rare occasion, a person is healed by simple faith but they don’t have the foggiest ideas what they did to receive it or for that matter neither does the person praying for them. These are hit and miss. Don’t get me wrong anyway you get healed is a great thing. These ways however have drawbacks. You must wait for lightning to strike with these methods. You must find and travel to find this person with the gift of healing and just hope it works. With the Gift of the Spirit for healing they are few and far between. I believe because these were last ditch measures designed by God for people who were deathly sick. In other words, if you had just a short time to live and needed to build yourself up in the divine healing principles of God’s Word you would be doomed to die. The problem is this is the only way most Christians know how to receive divine healing. The danger with these ways except for healing by Biblical Promises/Principles accompanied by simple child-like faith is this. What do you do if you get healed in a crusade meeting and go home and the symptoms start to reappear. If you don’t know how you got healed, you probably will be passive and won’t be able to defend your healing.

          Pulpit prayers and prayer chains work for many things, but when it comes to divine healing rarely. Why? Because usually the person needs to have their heart and mind prepared spiritually (thru teaching these principles of God’s Word). Prayer chains work for many things but will not work for Divine Healing if there are weak links (people who are not praying in faith). We seem to have this the more the merrier attitude, but what we don’t realize is that yes you get an accumulation of people’s faith but you also get an accumulation of their unbelief. One man with a laser (simple child-like faith without unbelief) is better than a hundred people taking scatter shots in the dark with shot guns not knowing how to aim their shots. Look at the examples in the New Testament.

          Two things only can prevent you from receiving your healing. One is unbelief and unbelief can be very subtle. Faith is given by God and built and purified as we put our faith into action. Not having enough faith is not the problem. How do I know that because it only takes a mustard seed to move a mountain. If that is true why do we hardly ever see anyone healed? Well, that question will be answered, and more. The other is the lack of understanding about how healing works. Most people give up very quickly if they don’t see immediate results.

          People get wounded very easily when you talk about Divine Healing. My intention is to help not to hurt. If you are going the medical route, I will pray for you and ask God to bless the doctor or surgeon. You need to go where your faith is at. Unfortunately, the church has come up with all sorts of statements to explain away the lack of healing taking place. “Sometimes, God says no.” “God is sovereign.” You never know what God will do. “It’s in God’s hands.” “God made me sick to glorify him.” All of those things I can and will refute from Scripture. Andrew Wommack, is my mentor, in the arena of Divine Healing. He made this statement once. It shocked me! This is a guy who has seen tens of thousands of people healed in his lifetime. He has a worldwide ministry. He said every minister he knows (and he knows a lot of them) who had some form of incurable disease and said “well I prayed and it’s in God’s hands now” had died. Every one of them.

          A short time ago, God revealed to me that Satan was trying to either make sick or kill as many Christians as he can. The Bible says, “He goes about like a roaring lion trying to devour people.” If we don’t know how Divine Healing works then we can’t properly defend ourselves and we are a candidate for destruction.

         We will deal with unbelief. I lost my healing due to unbelief three times. I used to feel guilty. I now know that I needed the roots to go deeper for me to stand effectively and to be able to teach and pray for others. That has taken place now and is growing stronger daily. And know this that unbelief can be very subtle. Faith is given by God and built and purified by us trusting God and taking baby steps!

          I have ten years of Experience (practicing hundreds of times on myself) and praying for others successfully. God has opened these principles up for me to share. Just keep at it and don’t quit. One thing I know for sure is this: the way I used to do it “pray and hope something would happen” never worked. You know the definition of insanity is “doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” This works period! And as you grow in it; it works more and more. If God did it for me, he will do it for you. Psalm 103 tells us “Not to forget his benefits.” One of those listed is healing (he heals ALL our diseases). You have a benefit package. It only works if you use it.

          If you think I am boasting I am not. I let God put the spotlight of my heart and I realized that “I was the greatest of all sinners and I am the least of all Christians.” I am just a man who got sick of being sick and sick of feeling like a loser and wasn’t satisfied with status quo and wanted to see the miraculous. God helped me find my way out for me and for you. I tell people the first five years were for me to be healed. I could have stopped there. But I chose to go on so I could teach others and this took me an additional five years. I always believed the Book of Acts is real and that miracles took place. Now I have proved that true in my life in the arena of Divine Healing and other areas too. My motto is based on John 14:12 and I practice it daily; “If Jesus can do it I can do it because he gave me his authority to do just that.” I am so grateful to God for allowing me by his mercy and grace to do this! The Book of Acts and Miracles are true. I am living proof and I want to share this with you.

I was “Touched by an Angel” at Walmart: a true story

          It was June, 2011; I was hurting both physically and emotionally. I had been healed six weeks before, and it was gone, and now my pain was back. It was constant and twice as bad as before. I didn’t understand why. I was on my way to having a ministry to help others receive their healing, too. Suddenly, without warning I had been stopped dead in my tracks. I not only wasn’t going to have a divine healing ministry, but I was sicker than I was before. I had been sick and in horrible pain for five and one half years.

      A few days later, I was at Walmart, and I was just crushed. I sat down and at got something small to eat at the Subway inside the store. I was alone and there were tears rolling down my cheeks. I hurt so bad and was so confused. There was no one around so I quietly cried out to God and said “why Lord, I don’t understand, I am such a failure, I can’t even keep my healing.” I felt I had let everyone down-people who could have benefited from the teaching on Divine Healing that I had received from him, and especially God, himself.

        Then it happened-all of a sudden I was aware that there were a group of angels just above me. I couldn’t see them, but I knew they were there. They were having a discussion about me saying things like “look he’s trying so hard.” Then one of them said to me “Scot, you are highly favored.” I immediately thought “a loser like me.” Then it took effect in my spirit- those words begin to work like a medicine to encourage me.

        I haven’t had many encounters with angels, but this was amazing. The words that were spoken to me were almost embarrassing to me. Why? Because these were the same words the angel had spoken to the Virgin Mary. I sure wasn’t in her class. Then I heard a teacher teach on this phrase. He went on to say that there are only two times that the Greek word is used in the New Testament. First, when the angel spoke to Mary and told her you are “highly favored, and later in the book of Ephesians 1:6 when it is translated and says God has made us “accepted in the beloved.” The word for accepted means “highly favored.” So every true believer in Christ is accepted in the beloved and also, highly favored. This day an angel came to me to encourage me at a critical point at just told me who I was in Christ “accepted by God and highly favored.”

        I wasn’t immediately healed, there would be another two rounds following, in all, and it was another one and one half years before God declared that this part of the trial was over and another six years before it was totally over.

        I am so glad that I didn’t give up. I am also grateful that God never gives up on us even when we are at our wit’s end. Thank God he knows just when to show up: like in June, 2011, at Walmart when I was “Touched by an Angel.”
