It took me along time to come to this point in my life. I was a Christian, but I always thought God was disappointed in me. I gave him a lot of reason to be disappointed. I now realize that he loved me unconditionally. That doesn’t mean he condoned all of things I used to do. I gave the devil a lot of ammunition to fire at me and it hindered my life. I finally realized like a loving father who loves his kid; you may be disappointed in them, but you never quit loving them
and cheering for them. You are so happy for them when they get it right. Just like the story of the prodigal son found in Luke 15:21-32, when I finally got it right, with God’s power of course, he not only was cheering for me, giving me high fives and knuckle bumps, but he actually ran to meet me. Can you imagine that; God, the creator of the universe, ran to meet me.
We are on a first name basis now; I call him Abba Father, whenever I pray. It means “Daddy.” He calls me son. I know that he has my picture in his wallet and that he loves me. You know what? God has a big wallet, and if you are his child, he has your picture in his wallet too. If you don’t know him, he can become your Abba Father and he’ll put your picture in his wallet.
