First, I have found that if I am not walking and growing in the love of God, there ain’t much attractive about me. The Bible says that they will know we are Christian by our love. To be able to give love away, I need to receive it first. I am talking about on a day to day basis. You can’t give away what you don’t have. Being a nice, sincere, person who is a Christian isn’t enough to transform someone else’s life. I have to spend time in God’s presence and his Word to renew my mind and recharge my spiritual batteries. Loving someone else is easy then. No matter how they treat you or act, you can love them. You aren’t doing it in your own strength anymore, but in the power of God.
God lives inside every believer, but many believers never let him out. He is either dormant through their neglect or lack of understanding. Now once you understand and experience his love, and it is flowing inside of you, then there is another step. You need boldness. We all do in order to let God out. He wants so bad to flow through us to others, but we have the switch that controls this. We need to draw upon the power of the Holy Spirit that was promised to us in the Book of Acts.
Take a little step of boldness today, and God will meet you there and increase it. After you begin to see sweet victory in your life, you will be back for more. It’s addicting in a good way!
So don’t keep God all to yourself, let him out!
"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
(Acts 1:8)
"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you
have love for one another.”
(John 13:35)
"Freely you have received, freely give."
(Matthew 10:8)
