Is there a way to tell if the promise hasn’t gotten to your heart, and is still in your head only? Yes, the one works and produces and the other doesn’t. If it is in your head only, you are left to using your will power. We all know how far that gets you. If it gets to your heart, then you have the Power of the Holy Spirit of God working for you. This is where we get the benefits God has given us kick in!
His promises are not hidden from his children but for them. It is my job as a God-called teacher to dig out these buried treasures. God helps me to put the pieces of the puzzle together and then to help others connect the dots on these puzzle pieces.
For me I just, typed out for healing some promises on a two-sided page and quoted them over and over. I would pray in the Spirit at the same time. If you are not Baptized in the Holy Spirit, I would encourage you to receive it. You can pray in English and Praise the Lord while quoting these Promises if you are not Spirit-filled.
If you do not get the Promise from your head to your heart, the Bible tells us that Satan steals the Word. God pointed this truth out to me in Psalm 103. It says, “Forget not his benefits.” I have observed that when I don’t keep these promises flowing that I tend to forget them and they lose power in my life. Romans 10:17 says “faith comes by hearing and healing the Word of God.” You could say that unbelief comes from not hearing the Word of God. If we neglect the garden of our heart, weeds grow up and choke off the good produce that is coming.
Last week, God strongly emphasized this promise to me and I share it with you. Psalm 1:2,3 “But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
One of my favorite movies; which I didn’t see until about a year ago is the Miracle Worker. It is the true story of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan her teacher. Helen, as a young child, developed a high fever and lost all her sight and hearing. Annie taught her sign language by touch. She had to separate her for an agreed-on amount of time to teach her. Her parents struggled and catered to her which made things worse. So, when the time was up, Annie wanted more time to with her but the parents said no. Annie knew she only was responding for rewards, etc. and didn’t really understand. She hoped there was enough there inside of her to kick in for her to have a breakthrough. Later, the two go outside, and are pumping water from a cistern. Helen, her mom said, had said Wa Wa -for water before the fever hit her. In a defining moment, Helen grabs the handle of the water pump and yells “wa-wa.” Annie says, “She knows, She knows.”
This is what will happen to you if you keep meditating on the promises and they get from your head to your heart: “you will know, you will know”
If you don’t quit you will make this connection. Scripture tell us in due season we will reap in we don’t faint. (quit)
