It was in January or February of 1988 or 1989, I went with my senior Pastor to attend a Tommy Barnett/Lowell Lundstrom Pastor’s seminar in Willmar, MN. I went there excited to here Tommy Barnett. He was the featured speaker, and did a good job. But it was Lowell Lundstrom’s Words that God would carve into my heart that would eventually change my life. These words would lay there dormant for twenty years and in 2005 God would bring them back and light a fire that is still burning today!!!
I only heard Lowell Lundstrom preach three times that I can think of (to my regret). But those three times he said something that at the time sounded cool but meant nothing to my carnal heart. Later, God would bring those things back like a laser. He is the only person in my life who had the greatest impact on my life with such limited exposure. I regret that I didn't listen to him much more. His greatest statement to me was this (wording may not be exact but this was the drift). "People want a man of God who can deliver the freight not just hype." I grew up and became OCD and very hyper to say the least. I had so many unresolved issues in my life: I had a failed marriage and ministry. I had negative self-esteem. Then a little over 10 years ago, I became deathly sick and God (who didn't cause this) used this to change me around. I said, “whatever you have to do; just do it Lord, only spare my life.” I began to slowly seek him with all my heart. It was a tug of war with my flesh and God’s spirit. After ten years of hell on earth (in four parts) God opened Divine Healing, etc. to me. Me, the former greatest of all sinners and the least of all Christians.
During this time, I remembered what Lowell Lundstrom had said and I made a promise to God. I will never preach anything unless I can live it myself (including Divine Healing). I have to be able to deliver the freight. The first five years were for me to be healed. I could have quit there but I didn’t. The last five were so I could help others find healing in Jesus. Now I have practiced on myself hundreds of times and a few others successfully and am going to begin teaching these principles God shown me in a public ministry.
Could someone else have spoken these words into my life? Well nobody did! God used one man and one many alone: Lowell Lundstrom. I BELEIVE I WOULDN'T EVER HAVE BEEN CHALLENGED TO DELIVER THE FREIGHT. HIS WORDS TO ME CHANGED MY LIFE TWENTY YEARS LATER!!! I give all the glory to God and I thank God for Lowell Lundstrom, with a soft Holy Spirit filled heart now; I can deliver the freight because God sent a man named Lowell Lundstrom into my life to challenge me "TO DELIVER THE FREIGHT" And with God’s help that is exactly what I am going to do!!!!!
