So how do you determine what it is and how do you overcome it? What I do, when I am being attacked in an area of my life, is this. First, I renew my mind. Romans 12:1, 2 tell us to do this. I find if I don’t put my mind on the Lord often throughout the day and the promises of God’s Word and keep thinking about him and praying, that I tend to start becoming naturally minded and I want to be spiritually minded. So I renew my mind. Scripture tells us to be spiritually minded is life and peace, and to be carnally minded is death (which means depression, worry, anxiety, sin). To be carnally minded just means of the five senses; which can be just natural or sinful. Then after I have eliminated that, if there is something there still, by process of elimination, I know it is the devil. I then rebuke the devil, in the name of Jesus, according to James 4:7 and he leaves. There are times through the gift of discernment that I know
right away this is a demonic attack and I take authority over
it.
Can the flevil make you do it? The apostle Paul said, in his epic struggle in Romans 7, that if you try to do it by your own strength, you will fail. You must renew your mind and take your authority and place your faith squarely in Jesus Christ. If you do this, the flevil can’t make you do anything! So if you run into a flevil, now you know what do!
