“Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
“But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.” (Mark 5:25-34)
What do we know about her?
1. She was sick 12 years
2. She had been to many doctors, her funds were depleted, and she
was no better.
3. What kind of person was she???
Was she a Godly woman or was she grumpy? Did she do a lot of good deeds? We just don’t know. Scripture doesn’t tell us anything else about her background because it didn’t matter. God is no respecter of persons.
4. She Heard “Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God”
(Romans 10:17)
Someone has said it comes by hearing and then hearing it again and again
5. She Believed-“If I just touch the hem of his garment, I will be healed.”
6. She was Totally Committed to her healing
She may have had to get down on all fours like a dog and
crawl through the crowd to get to Jesus. Leviticus 15
contains the instructions for anyone with a bodily discharge.
They were to be considered unclean. They were treated like a
leper. Now this was to protect the rest of society from their
disease, but for them; they were the outcasts of society. It was
a horrible existence. Not only were you physically sick, but
you would suffer emotionally and financially. She risked it all.
7. Who touched me?
Jesus asked this question. He was God, but he was operating
as a man perfectly in the power of the Holy Spirit. He didn’t
know who had touched him. She drew the power out of him.
He didn’t evaluate how much she had prayed or how much she had given or how good she was. We do know one thing
though “God is no respecter of persons-You don’t have to be
good enough. Anyone who will come to him with simple
child-like faith and a determined heart will find healing.
8. What did he tell her? “Daughter you faith has healed you”
9. She testified about her healing. She told Jesus and others there her story.
KEEP WALKING IT OUT
If you don’t quit, you will get the desired results. Some are able to receive their healing immediately. This is usually off someone else’s faith. Many have to retrain their heart; to get the doubt out, and then it happens. This scripture kind of sums it up.
“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:9)
Next week I will conclude this Blog adapted from my teaching from week four of my Divine Healing Series. I will share what I do when I need healing. I call it my Spiritual GPS.
