I thought I would comment on this. I was talking to my wife, Ginelle and my Dad and this thought came to me. Within 24 hours two people in their mid-eighties had died. They were as polar-opposite as one could be. One was Della Reese. She was Tess on Touched by an Angel. She was an Ordained Minister of the Gospel. She was vocal about Jesus. She is the one who went to bat to save the show “Touched by an Angel” when it was almost cancelled after one season. By all accounts she was a wonderful Christian lady. I have the highest respect for her.
Then the other man that died was named Charlie Mansion. He terrorized a generation. He killed innocent people; including pregnant woman. He was the embodiment of evil. He was “Touched by the Devil.” Sorry Charlie, no award-winning series for you. He is perhaps the most well-known serial killer of our time.
Both people became famous. One for terrorizing and murdering people and the other for touching their hearts and souls. One tore down and one built up.
I don’t know about you, but I already miss my sister in the Lord, Della Reese and who she was and what she did. For some reason I don’t miss what’s his name. Someday, we who are believers will be reunited with that Lady: Della Reese “Who was touched by God and an Angel.” Until then she serves as a role model to Love God, love people and tell them about Jesus.
You can make a difference in people’s lives; like Della Reese did-Love them with God’s love. John 13:35- “they will know we are Christians by his love.”
