HOW DO I GROW AS A CHRISTIAN?
First, just start hanging out with Jesus. Talk to him in prayer like you would talk to your best friend. He likes that! Don't fall into long, religious prayers. He hates that! Just be yourself, and tell him how much you love him. You can develop a intimate, heart relationship with him instead of a cold, religious head knowledge. It makes all the difference!
Second, start reading the Bible. Start with the Gospel of John. It's the fourth book in the New Testament. If you can't find it, use your table of contents at the front of the Bible. Then just start reading through the Bible. Eventually you'll want a Word-for-Word study Bible, a concordance and some other study aids. There are plenty of resources on the Internet such as Bible Gateway. Click on link for help: www.biblegateway.com/
Then, find a good church to go to. Look for a church that teaches what the Bible says; not man-made beliefs and traditions. Look for good, uplifting, lively worship. This is sometimes, a hit and miss. The first church you go to may not be the right fit. Hopefully, it is! Don't be discouraged, just keep looking if the first one you try isn't right. God will guide you to the right one!
Then, start giving! One of the best things you can do is to start sharing your faith with others. Also, start giving financially. See if there is a place where you can help out at your local church. Ask the pastor. God will begin to show you your talents and gifts and direct you into what fits best for you.
These are only starting points for new Christians; the basics. You will continue to grow if you make the effort!
