THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM?-PART TWO-CHASING THE DREAM!-85a
The Impossible Dream
To right the unrightable wrong
To love pure and chaste from your heart
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
That song was written by Mitch Leigh and Joe Darion
So, what is your dream? What is your vision?
· I believe this is the most important message that I have ever preached. If you don’t have a personal dream or vision then you are a dead man or woman walking already! You are just killing time. Don’t settle for that!
RUN TO WIN (FINISH YOUR RACE)
I Corinthians 9:24-27 (ESV)
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So, run that you may obtain it.
25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air.
27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
Hey if a wimp like me could go ten years it will be a piece of cake for you
1. Stick to your race-Keep your eyes on Jesus not the grandstands
(don’t go up in the grandstands and argue with the spectators-God will take care of them)
Hebrews 12:2 (ESV)
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
2. Get rid of the Sin and Weights
Hebrews 12:1(ESV)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
3. Keep Training/don’t ever quit-walk to finish if you have to (but finish)
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
4. Your dedication will pay off in Relationship and Power
Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Don’t you want something bigger than you. Something where you have to rely on God himself to do the miraculous. Something where you know him better than your best friend. Something where you heal the sick and raise the dead.
Then Join me for Part 3-We’ll tie this all together!
